Granny-outing to Chinatown: A Pictorial

Spent the afternoon with my granny at Chinatown! Lotsa peeeeps there even though its a tuesday afternoon...

Making our way towards Lee Tong Kee for some lunch..

Came across the 'preserved meats' stall as we were walking towards Lee Tong Kee for lunch...Always wanted to take a picture of this store!

$1 goodies is the trend? Or so the signage says...

'Guo tie', anyone?

The Singapore Hok San (translated literally as "Crane Mountain") Association...whose soccer team is known as the 'Jollilads Arsenal Soccer Team", under the Registrar of Societies... hahahahahaa no kidding man!

We were there because the clan was giving out cash (about 30 bucks i think) to its elderly members for Chinese New Year...how cool is that? I thought it was a nice gesture..and 30 bucks could go a long way for some too.

Relaxin' at Yakun after visiting the clan. Had Kopi Orh Porh(meaning coffee black, light) and Ice Lemon Tea...Total Cost: $2

We then made our way to Chew Kay to buy some soya sauce chicken, its supposed specialty. The weather was threatening to rain, although there was sunshine..hence the wiping of sweat in the picture. :P

At our last stop in China Town, Chew Kay!

The End (for the Afternoon).

"The New Razr Black Has Landed...and other stories."

Caved in to my carnal desires and got the Razr Black...

Review-

Feel: Solid, 'non-plasticky' (yes, a magnet can stick to the body of the phone!)

User Friendliness: This is really a point of contention for many. I find that the phone, like all other phones, has its strong and weak points in this respect. For example, I like the fact that there is a dedicated message button, thus allowing for more functions to be allocated to the other hotkeys. One major complaint is a lack of an SMS letter limit warning i.e. you need to make sure your SMS don't exceed 290 letters or else you would be sending 2 SMSes. On the whole, the phone is still relatively easy to use.

Phonebook: Another controversy. The phonebook CAN support multiple entries, and you can view multiple numbers attached to a contact by pressing the direction key. In fact, you can attach a different picture to each number within the same contact. The newer firmware allows you to search for contacts by typing in the name (as opposed to searching for a contact by the first alphabet).

Features: Poor. 7mb of internal memory, no expansion slot. No IR. Only a 0.3megapix (640x480) camera. Nice software bundled though.

Hahaha... Am I too free or what??
